There are four Release 1 ION Systems:
- ION Test
- ION Alpha
- ION Stage
- ION Production
ION Test and ION Alpha are hosted on the San Diego Engineering Environment and the ION Stage and ION Production systems are hosted on the CyberPop Environment that will ultimately be hosted in Seattle.
For a list of Release 1 datasets, see: R1 ION Datasets
This system is used internally by the development team to test out new software fixes.

This system is used by the Early Adopter scientists and contains a full set of the R1 datasets.
|Cassandra:||cassandra.oceanobservatories.org (6 node cluster)|
This system is used by Ocean Leadership to test out the Release 1 ION system as part of the preparation for System Acceptance.
|Cassandra:||cassandra-stage.oceanobservatories.org (6 node cluster)|
This system is initially used by Ocean Leadership to perform Acceptance testing on to verify the system is ready for production. Once the system passes acceptance testing, it is considered "in production".
